Hello, this is a very awesome piece and a very detailed one. I’m really happy I came across this, as the information I’m getting from here is standard. Knowing my body’s composition is very important. I came across this post over 45 minutes ago and I’ve been reading continuously to understand it properly. My mum used to tell me when I take care of my body, every other thing would fall in place so I hold that very dearly. Thank you for sharing this.

I am here on your post because I am searching for effective weight loss methods. And I am happy you have provided more details about the BMI, fat mass and skeletal muscle mass. I have been reading about tracking changes in body composition but those posts seem to have been outdated. I a glad I landed on your site.

In reply to Eirian Silver.

Yes, Eirian, the estimation of the body composition using the Body Composition Analyser (BCA) provides more useful information. The BCA will show if the weight you have gained through your workout is due to fat or muscle mass. Good luck.

It is great to be able to know what one's composition is. Thanks to the discovery of bio-electrical impedance analysis, this has been made easy and even more accurate. I definitely would love to know what is inside my body, and get a video of it if possible (because I'm very curious to know what's inside my body).

Hi there, thank you for sharing such amazing content. I agree that muscle mass and fat are of different compositions. I was an anorexic because of a food issue and bad habit, but now I am in a good measurement and trying to keep steady. Sometimes, I still heard how people addressing me or someone else as fat. Clearly, they don't understand how important body mass measurement and how to be ideal. But it is great that your content can help people increase more awareness on it

Very nice and informative article you've written here. There are numerous factors besides BMI system which point to an unhealthy body, and I'm glad you touched on those. I wish there was another system besides BMI for accurate measurement. I had worked out for a bit and went to a doctor who proceeded to call me fat because of the muscle mass gained. That was a horrible experience. Then he started berating me and telling me I needed to just be a vegetarian or else I'd just continue to get fat. I'd gained the weight from building muscle at the time. I'm glad you brought it to the attention that BMI isn't everything and shouldn't be everything that goes into dealing with body weight.
